Kids Helping Others

My family volunteers with the Scientology Volunteer Ministers and we have found that even the younger kids really like to help. I don't think there is anything more rewarding to a child, than for him to know he has really helped somebody else.

The older kids did tutor training with the World Literacy Crusade, and they really enjoyed helping other kids study better. They also participate in the Halloween for Hunger program, affiliated with Kids Can Free the Children.

Some of their friends help UNICEF through their HalloweenKids program.

There are lots of ways you can get your kids to help in your community. Ask them how they would like to help - and then help them to make it happen!

Well, the family is planning a big day for picnicking and spending time with relatives, and, of course, fireworks!

We will be managing to squeeze in some time to reflect on liberties and the importance of taking responsibility in terms of civics and that sort of thing. But mostly, we'll be having fun with family.
